8th Grade FIA Raises $800 with Pancake Breakfast
The third trimester eighth grade Faith in Action class worked hard as a team to raise more than $800 for Catholic Medical Mission Board, an organization that provides nutrition and health care for poor mothers and their children worldwide.
With the help of Saint John Parish Youth Minister Isaac Deken, the students planned and carried out the project, serving breakfast to well over a hundred parishioners and middle school students on Monday, May 22. Mr. Jerry Sova, owner of Captain Keno’s restaurant in Leucadia, donated enough pancake batter and sausage to feed everyone, and a number of parent volunteers were on hand to help the kids as they cooked, washed dishes, served, transported food, and cleaned up.
Thanks to all who supported the breakfast through which many people in need will be helped.
