The 5th grade classes embraced the fall season with a writing contest centering around the adventures of a mini pumpkin. The whole grade submitted engaging stories written from the perspective of the pumpkin. The goal was to convince the judges that their pumpkin’s story was the best and should be picked as being most entertaining. Along with the written essays, students supplied a decorated mini pumpkin to help illustrate the project. After careful review from five external judges, three winners from each class emerged from the pack of projects: Indiana Pumpkin, Dancer, Angel Pumpkin and Juliet the Mummy, Shelly Hicks the Spy, and The Poor Life (cat).
